Jack and I did about a half hour of training and I decided he could use a shower afterward, so off we went!

I've never seen him so into a shower. I feel like he seemed itchy.

Here's after shower

And here's after blow dry, which he loved almost as much as shower

And now he's nomming happily on his breakfast of pom ariels, cranberries, kiwi and hemp, granola and flax.

Oh, he definitely enjoyed that shower! Whenever I see my ekkies get particularly happy about a shower, I try and take note of the temperature, pressure, and angle. Sometimes I've found that it's simply a certain setting that they're enjoying.

Once I finally got Jolly's right, he just about started going berserk for them.

Maya doesn't quite go berserk, but she does enjoy.

It was enjoyable for me too! Lol. I had to run downstairs and grab my phone to capture it.

That is really sweet Liz :) Is the showerhead pointed right at him or is it slightly off to the side?

Parker tolerates them, wish he enjoyed them more. What I need to do is try to put him in another shower. Our main shower does not have a just of the pressure in this. It's either four on four off, you can only adjust the temperature. The pressure might be a little more than what he likes.

Nooo I knew someone would think that because that's definitely how it looks! It's like an 8 inch long perch and the stream is all the way at one end. He usually sits at the other end looking perterbed.

I always like adjustable shower heads for sure. Easier washing kids, pets, myself, lol.

The shower hits my birds straight on from above! I keep the pressure around middle of the road, to mimic a good rain shower. And I keep the temperature cool.

I started off with the pressure just above a gentle misting, but trial and error revealed that Jolly especially wanted his showers decidedly more... vigorous. Maya seems to feel like it's all the same either way.

Does it hit their whole body, including their heads? Jack was sneezing quite a bit when he put his head under. When I force the shower, I take the shower head off and let it rain on his back. I pull his wings out, spray his chest, etc.

No, I take off the shower head as well for greater accuracy. Otherwise, too much water gets in through their mouths and nostrils. Then your bird is spitting up water for the next few minutes and scaring the heck out of you! (Yes. Lesson learned. Lol!)

So I'll only a low the water to touch their heads for a fleeting moment, then return to their bodies.

Jasper likes his showers on the warmer side. I have a rain shower head and I tilt it so half the perch is getting wet and the other side isn't. So he can move in/out of the spray. He sticks his face right into it and of course sneezes the entire time but he seems to love it regardless. Closes his eyes and stays for as long as he can before he needs to move to the side and sneeze again lol

Can't believe I missed this post, I love seeing eckies have showers, I think this can be one of there most enjoyable activities. Jack really seems to be enjoying it.

Gizmo and Pebbles like it a bit warm and fairly high flow. Gizmo will sit with his head just under, so his eyes get wet, but he only has to sneeze occasionally, Pebbles doesn't like her head getting wet, so I do a few quick passes and then keep the water to her neck and back. Sometimes they are wings spread all fluffed up and working the water around with there heads, and other times they just like to sit and let it bead off there back and mainly get there neck wet. Sometimes I think Gizmo would go to sleep under the water if I let him..lol
