Oh dear, what should I do?

I've fallen in love with a particular species of parrot, and I'm 99% sure I'll buy one (sooner or later). I'm in love with the Princess parrot. The more I read about them, the more pictures I see, and the more birds I meet... I just love them more and more.

I already have many birds, I don't know how I'll break the news to the family!

Hey PQ - I remember you posting a thread months ago when you were looking for a bird and was asking for advice on what people thought was a good breed - the princess parrot was even a fav then :) I remember telling you to get a hamster - lol ;) even though I have only one bird I would love to have a whole zoo one day...good luck with telling your parents, always follow a positive with a quick negative then change the subject quickly - heehee. You could always try the traditional method and say, "Mom says its ok if you say its ok!" then go and swop and say, "Dad says its ok if you say its ok!"...on second thoughts maybe not - If I remember the outcome for me wasnt so good - lol. I have no doubt you will posting pics of the lil one real soon :)

I'm with you as far as loving the beauty of the PP's, saw some at a bird expo a couple of weeks ago, simply stunning, but unfortunatly they were breeder birds, just a little bit to wild, even for me, also saw some Red Rumped Parakeets in many color mutaions, the vivid blues, yellows and reds, but they too were for sale as breeder birds, going to another one on Sunday, maybe if I rememer to take my camera I'll snap some pics :)

I tried that and it DID work.... I found a baby magpie at school and a teacher gave it to me. I raised it then one day it was gone ( flew off, happy as Larry thank you very much! ). And now I have to convince them about a baby crow that hasn't been fed for about 9 hours + and is slightly emaciated. I made a fake nest as I could exactly reach the real one and it slept in there. The parents are still flying about, they just can't find it. It'll be ready to fly in a day or two, so it wouldn't be for that long. Anyway PQ, I hope you make a good decision and GET THE BIRD! Wish you luck!

Who could say no to you Ratzy :D. I found that if I used the line, "But its so good for me to have another pet because it teaches me responsibility!" that normally worked but my parents were fine with me having pets accept when I wanted to adopt a pig - they drew the line there lol! Good luck with deciding about the parrot PQ - keep us posted! :)

I really do not know how you people with multiple birds keep it going. It takes so much time cleaning up and caring for Rosie. I often wish and desire to get a rescue bird but then I come home to Rosie and think about how I am her mate and if I bring another bird in here how is she going to feel about this. How many fids do you have PQ? If you do not mind me asking.

Lol! Pigs are adorable! When I was young we had dogs, cats, rats, fish and lizards but as soon as the words "Moooom I want a fennec fox" came out of my mouth, she drew the line there and for good reason! lol:p

I remember you telling me about them in my thread about what bird to get- and I have fallen in love with them too. I am 95% sure I will get one lol

I have ten fids in all, but am soon going to only have eight. I'm afraid I have to part with the quail. They turned out to be really territorial and aggressive, and are actually attacking me. I can't risk losing an eye because of these two (really-- it's that serious!). After reading on them, nobody told me about this.

How do I do it? It's the birds I choose. The fowl require no more than a few minutes in my day of sitting with them, feeding them, and giving them fresh water. Coop cleaning only has to be done once a week, because it's so big. The cockatiels require the most time, but even still, not as much as a little Rosie would. With the finches, it's really the same thing as the chickens.

Aw I'm sorry to hear you have to part with the quails but its not worth losing an eye eh! Those beaks look like they could hurt...
