Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Got back from running errands tonight, and had Maggie out with me. So I went to set her down, and pick someone else up... I've got three begging, two eating...

So, I pick up Kiwi, who was the most demonstrative...

Sally, who is still fully flighted, had something to say about that, and she immediately flew to my shoulder...

Kiwi initially didn]t know if she was about to be attacked, or what, reacted in a defensive posture...

"You okay Kiwi? You want to go down?"

"It's okay. I don't care." She answered me immediately...

I swear to god!

NO WAY! That's so perfect!

hahaha that's priceless!
When our little Kiwi (who seems to be a little amazon in a conure body) started laughing after she nailed me we couldn't believe that she put it in (a somewhat evil) context. I just had to tell my husband what your Kiwi did and he couldn't stop laughing.

Sydney, my BFA does this. He has this "huhuhuhuhuh" laugh that he does after he's bitten me or flew at me in attack mode, or any other naughty behavior.

Brilliant! Next time an ignorant person pontificates about "birdbrains" you can give them a reality check!!

That's hilarious, Mark! Thanks for sharing the smiles!

That is awesome and hilarious at the same time, Mark!

I truly believe that the more we talk to our fids, the more they understand. :)

This little bird is going to be a cognitive talker... she's picking her spots, but she's already doing it.
