Got my MSBS order this morning and finally got around to unpacking it on my lunch break. Lots of fun stuff in there! I've been so busy I just walked by and tossed a few treats and a couple of foraging items in her cage to give her something new and fun to do while I deal with everything on my plate in the office today.

I think I have traumatized her for good! I wasn't even thinking of her being scared of new things (and almost everything is new to her) I heard her climbing around and making some little noises, but didn't think too much of it since I had just given her some new things.

Then it got really quiet (like you could hear a pin drop on the carpet quiet) so I walked in to check on her and found her hiding behind her "preening" toy (she never touches it) and peaking around it to see what the new things in her cage were doing! I asked her what she was doing and she almost jumped off her perch!

I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! And if looks could kill I would be pushing up daisies! I feel so bad for forgetting about her fears and then laughing at her!

I hope she forgives me soon so we can have our time together this afternoon/evening. :54:

Lol! Amanda, how dare you ambush poor Zilla with new toys? And then you laughed at her? I hope she forgives you before evening.

I know right? I can't believe I forgot (or didn't stop to think what I was doing) and just put a bunch of new things in her cage with her locked in it with them all!

She's still not speaking to me (I even took them all out and only left a couple treats in her dish)

Maybe by the time I close my office she will forgive me? Maybe if I take her into the kitchen with me to make her dinner? She loves playing in the kitchen.

Typical zon reaction... recoil in horror at the sight of it.

But go to take it out of the cage? THAT'S MINE!!!

Once upon a time Sally was very much the same way.

ROFLMAO @ ...."if looks could kill...."

C'mon Amanda, you are an exemplary parront. We ALL laugh at our babies sometimes...at their expense. :54:

I think now the issue is I'm STILL laughing and she is STILL glaring! :54:

It was HILARIOUS! I laughed so hard I cried. I kind of feel bad now, but not really! :54:

How dare you spoil her with new toys! HMPH! You should really know better ;) :p

I know right? It's been awhile since I put anything new in her cage and I just wasn't thinking of her "freak out at new things" issues. I was thinking it would give her something fun to do while I finish all my paperwork, who knew I would be adding to her issues??? And then I laughed at her! What was I thinking??? :54:

Too funny. How dare you. Expect a nibble of punishment later:)

Lol she's like "are you mocking me?!? You'll pay for that..."

I always forget chili is afraid of perches when they're not installed- if she sees me carrying a perch around (big scary sticks!! [emoji33]) she has a coronary. Once it's installed, it's totally fine  lol

LOL! That's so funny! My gcc Parry gets very easily offended too! Dare me not laugh at him! He would have the same kinda killer look and then scream at me. LOL Or just sit in the corner with his back to me and look around at me once in a while to see if I'm repenting. :D

To make it worse, you also gave her treats ,but because of the accursed toys she couldn't even get the treats. Now if that ain't torture!

OMG that's funny stuff! :D
What'd ya get for Zilla? I just got a MSBS order too :)

Zilla got TWO orders in 2 days! Can we all say "spoiled much"??? Lots of misc. toy parts, stainless steel chain, stainless hooks, shredding filler stuff, ropes, tennis shoe toys, the anti-fungal powder to put on her food to help with her aspergilliosis, drilled oyster shells....then the foods and treats...

volkmans featherglow fancy soak & simmer...LOVES it!
roudybush soak n serve, tuscan recipe flavor...LOVES it!
Sprouting mix...not sprouted yet, hope she likes it.
Santa Fe spicy treat mix...LOVES it!
goldenfeast nut meats & fruit mix...LOVES it! (except the brazil nuts, she doesn't like them at all)
senior nutri-berries...LOVES them! (vet recommended the senior)
sunseed fabulous fruit mix...doesn't like the coconut, but likes the rest of it!
Higgins vita seed california mix...LOVES it!
fun max kritty treats...LOVES them.

And of course she had to try everything edible, then "eyeball" all the non-edible things, but still won't touch anything new...

I was all about the candy they sent me! That was awesome! :D

I know right? I spent the entire afternoon/evening making up for my stupidity! She made sure of that! :D
