It's all about....MeMe

As I was falling asleep last night I was still trying to come up with a fitting name for my new little bundle of green. I was thinking how my rescue YN made everything about him and then I came up with MeMe. I am hoping I can teach her to say "It's all about MeMe"

Speaking of meant to be if anyone remembers when my breeder friend gave me my Nape in my early twenties there was no way to know how old he was but the guess was well over 20 and maybe even much older than that. He had quite the checkered past. Fed just awful, too small of a cage and many years before me of being aggressive toward everyone so left in solitude for a very long time. He loved me instantly and I him. I was saying to the breeder that I wish I had a birth date for him because from now on every year would be a celebration of his life with me. So she said well most YN are born early spring so she picked the date of March 2nd. Well it turns out my little MeMe was hatched on March 2nd of this year. I can tell you I got a little more than weepy over that!

Here she is....what a doll, she makes my heart melt!

MeMe is QUITE the stunner already, and a REALLY good size, too.

There is ZERO doubt in my mind that the 2 of you were meant to be together. I can't wait to watch this love story unfold.

I love it when a zon and a peoples find each other. Now you know how some of us lucky folks feel. I like the name. Yes most zons are born/hatched in the spring. We use Valentines Day around our house. Alot of our babies hatch about then.

I was very loved by a YN male for a little over 15 yrs before he passed from complications involving his life before we found each other. I miss him everyday and I know that MeMe and I will be together until it's my time to go. So it is with that far off (I hope) thought in mind that I want to make her as loving to all people as I can.

My male had such a hard life, he had become so withdrawn and aggressive that no one wanted him and he was in no condition to be a breeder as he was very over weight, you could tell not only with his health but with many of the things he said from previous homes that life had not been easy for him.
He absolutely hated everyone on the planet but me, I even had to learn to cut his nails by holding him in a towel with my feet, he would not tolerate anyone else near him. I on the other hand could do anything with him and that was really from the moment he met me. There was no break in time, he saw me, started screaming hello and excitedly flashing. My breeder friend said don't touch him he is not tame, but he seemed so interested I told her I would risk it. I opened the cage he came scampering out jumped on my arm and started trying to feed me. She said "he is YOURS!" Most of my funny stories involve that silly bird, he was a riot. The things he said oh my!
