Itching to intervene with my senegals.

I have a pair of senegals that live in my livingroom in a large cage with a nesting box inside, the pair are both calm and were only introduced together about 4 months ago, both are x pets that were not given attention.

now this pair laid eggs and had two chicks both of the same size, after the initial look I was happy and have left them alone since.
I was expecting the chicks to have left the box by now but there showing no signs, so again I looked into the box, but only this time via the top of the cage with a torch in hand. "I put the box in with the door to the bars so I could not keep going in and disturbing them", and only this time there is 1 almost fully feathered chick, and one half it's size and bald????

anyone have any idea whats gone on and what should I do.

the chicks were born 1st sept.

I'm not sure how normal this is (no experience hatching my own, but this doesn't sound ideal), do you have an exact hatch day for each chick? Would it be possible to get an avian vet to come and look at them? Can you post a picture at all?

I would be buying hand rearing formula for parrots in case you need to feed it. I think someone with experience breeding birds needs to see this. I'd be asking Shreddedoaks and the like to read this ASAP.

I have still left them alone so the chicks can be parent reared, but I'm wondering if mum laid a second lot of eggs and that might explain the vast difference between the chicks???? I'm also wondering if this is the case maybe it's possible the older chick isn't leaving as mum is still feeding it. It's not something I have come across before..

but on the other hand, possible that the youngest of the chick is the original but has not had much in the way of food and it's being plucked.????

I have rearing food and a brooder, but I did'nt want to go down that road...


UPDATE...

have checked on the chicks and one has died and not much of it remains, the second chick is fully feathered but has a severe splayed leg, probably why it has not left the nest box.
