I adopted a TAG about 5 months ago from a hoarding situation. He passed away after only living with me for 5 months. I had a necropsy done: Cancer, smoking and age. I am devastated, Tiki had chosen me and was my dream fid. So I am looking for a new forever pal. Looking to have become my emotional support animal, so can be with me most of the time anywhere I am. I am primarily at home. Caged at night. Prefer TAG but will consider a CAG. Needs to prefer a woman. I am in Michigan. Offering a great home to the right parrot!!! (The list of parrots are the flock mates, but my S.O., Bruce is their chosen person., leaving me without a parrot)

There is a new rescue in the general Battle Creek area, sorry their name does not come to me at the moment. Research Rehomers and Rescue organizations in your area. There is another like 20 -30 miles North of Grand Rapids area. Point is, that they are out there and have Parrots looking for a loving home.

There is always a more than good chance that you can convert one of the existing flock to find you! Enhanced interaction may surprise you that one of those Parrots just may find being #1 with you is much better than being #3 in the group. Give it more than a passing consideration.

I'm so sorry for your loss:(
I hope you are able to find one, and that he or she helps to ease your pain.

I happen to know of a few rescues and the people that run them. Birds and Beaks in Battle Creek, MI, Kiki's Playground in Lansing, MI, Feathered Friends in Michigan, Milan, MI, Hurlin's around Traverse City, There's another rescue in LIvonia? Been there, don't remember the name. I have been in touch and visited each in November. They are all great rescues! None have Timneh's and I rescued my Tiki from a rescue that took in the TAG from a hoarding situation. The rescues are trying to help me also. As for the other fids here, they have no reason to switch their allegiance. Time spent with them is enjoyable but doesn't sway their choices and therefore mine. They are out of cage and with me all day. Can't wait for their person to get home. Bribes get me nowhere. They made their choices and stand or fly by them.

I’ve only had CAGs and love them, I’m so sorry to hear of what happened to you and your adopted timneh. There are parrot rescues that specialize in greys as well, hoping you find a fid soon!
