is your ‘tiel petite or chubby?

So whenever I go to pet shops I always see these really hefty cockatiels for sale and Berry is so much smaller than them!

She’s still in the healthy weight range, just on the lower end of the scale haha. Then I did some research and apparently healthy ‘tiels can range in weight from around 80 grams all the way up to 125 grams!! Berry is around 90g.

So, to the cockatiel parronts: would you consider your ‘tiel to be petite like Berry or big and “chubby”?

Just a fun little question!

Elvis is 96 grams, while Skittles is about 115 grams.

I consider Elvis petite and Skittles chubby.

I've had tiels range in weight from 88 grams to 116 grams. The two that were on the lower end were pretty petite, although the one that weighed more actually appeared like he was the lighter of the two...


I only have one cockatiel left, and I'm not sure of her current weight, but she usually ranges from 96-112ish. Wouldn't surprise me if she's currently on the heavier side right now as she's not getting as much exercise being stuck in a tiny cage. (temporary... even the cage I have to upgrade her into is still smaller than what she was in before...)

Yeah Berry usually falls between 88 and 90 haha!
