Hahaha! My goodness. Sometimes I feel as if having birds is almost an entry level preparation for having children. You reward them when they do well, cry with them when they hurt, and feel happy when they are happy. You also go out of your way to make them the best food you can, even if you're only eating some cereal for supper, haha!
Today I went out and FINALLY found some organic dandelion greens to buy for the fids, and I kid you not I've been searching for months! They've just never seemed to appear. Today when I decided to go buy some snacks for my boyfriend and I, voila! There they were! And of course, the supposedly-small shopping trip for my boyfriend and I turned into a shopping trip for the birds. I decided that I'd make them a fruit chop with some greens and oatmeal to compliment the wonderful weather we've been having! So I grabbed the greens, got some strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blueberries, bananas, and some broccoli, cauliflower, snap peas, and carrots to add in. Gotta sneak in the greens when you can, right?
Anyways, when I first gave it to them Avery dug RIGHT in! She really has no hesitation when it comes to eating, she's such a doll with all of her food. Shiko, however, kind of beaks it and then puts his head up all high and mighty as if to say, "my REAL mom didn't make this for me, so I'm not having any!" Pffft. Just you wait baby boy. So, after feeding the fids, boyfriend and I went off to the gym, and when we came back I got him red handed! Or red beaked? I mean, it was literally EVERYWHERE. So here's some adorable pictures of my messy blue baby boy!
What are you looking at, huh?!
Seriously, I don't get why you keep pointing that thing at me.
Take note of how he enjoyed it so much he ended up getting it on his head... reminds me of my little cousin mushing crab meat into her hair ecstatically when she was over for supper once....
Can't help but love his silly personality! We're getting closer and closer every day, and it makes me so happy
