Pauly my Alex I notice has a normal looking tounge at the tip but as it goes down into his throat looks soar and red instead of pinkish like the tip. I'm wondering if that is part of his throat and that is why it is so red and "raw" looking.

Just wanted to check with someone to see if they could indicate how normal it looks or if I need to have him checked out by an avian specialist.

Three photos attached. Any confirmations would be excellent!

Looks normal to me based on my limited Alexandrine experience. The Rb's tongue and gullet are dark gray, but there is a similar texture change.

What cute pictures!!!!!!!!! Gorgeous beak. Great action shots... made me grin.

Check my post on the 1st page of general Health care asking the very same question, looks and sound normal.
Props to getting a clear pic I found it hard to do myself!

Ok thanks a lot for the confirmation. I'm glad you got some assurance out of this thread also adz1984.

Oh, mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn, I wish I'd had this site wayyyyyyy back in 1984. I recall being panicked and helpless and feeling so very alone... so many times!
I love this place.
