Is this normal?

I put a sand perch in the cage with Smokey and Prissy because I read it helps them with their beak and nails. I think Prissy is over sharpening her beak. When she kisses what used to be a sweet little nibble kiss is now like getting a sharp piercing! She isn't being aggressive it's just that her beak is so sharp now.

Is this normal?

She's been grinding her beak then so it's pretty normal! They keep them up in top shape to chew and break open seeds and what not.

LOL yeah, when I got Cal, he had a pretty dull beak - we fave him cement and sand perches and now that thing is a razor!!!

Same here- Chili's favorite perch is her ped perch, and she's been sharpening it like mad! And it's the unexpected nips that get me YOW!!! Lol
