Is this normal for when parrots eat?

I know parrots are messy eaters, but I am not sure if this is normal. When I leave my Lovie a piece of apple in his cage, he will come and eat it, but after a while he will start taking chunks out of the apple and chucking them to the floor. And he doesn't do this slowly, he does it very fast and violently as if he is trying to dig through the apple. In the end he will have eaten about 1/3 of the piece and the rest will be on the floor of the cage.

Oh yeah, normal. If fact Salty throws the first piece or bite of anything straight to the floor. Could be his favorite treat, or stuff he doesn't care for. Patooey, right down it goes. To be joined with much else by the time the meal is over.

Bumble has an "instructional video" on Instagram where she shows you how to shred and fling a baby carrot in seconds flat. [emoji23][emoji23] Sometimes she picks up the bite size pieces and eats them later.

you're lucky it goes on the floor! Rio would often throw half eaten raisins at my face if he was able to. He's been gone for just over 2 months now and I'm still finding bits of seed, pellets, fruit all over the place

Very normal, and I'd be concerned if there was little or no mess!! My birds have conditioned me!! :D
