Is this a "feed me" wing tic or something else?

Hi Everyone,

Baxter is doing this wing tic more frequently these days (see video below). I'm concerned.

Is this normal? He is about 3 months old now. Would he still be considered a "baby" at 3 months? I know babies show this wing tic when they want food, but I don't know if Baxter should have grown out of that stage by now.

Should I consider taking him to the vet? I don't want to be one of those parronts who takes her fid to the vet every time he does something a little different. But, also don't want to ignore a behavior that might indicate something isn't quite right.

I know I've asked about this in a previous post (where he was hissing along with the wing tic) so I apologize for brining it up again. Just want to get some input from those of you with more parronting experience.

Thanks.

He is SO adorable!!

Can't help you on the wing thing though. I have an impression it's not serious but nothing to back that up :)

I don't want to give you unnecessary hope; I'm not a vet or professional or even a long-time parront, I've only had Pixie for a few weeks now.

However, Pixie does something similar when she wants something from me, eg "You stupid human, take me out of my cage now". Pixie does all kinds of wing behaviours because she's learned that it's an easy way to get the human's attention. Maybe Baxter is doing something similar? He's adorable, by the way :)

What it is, I don't know but is it normal, YES.

Both of my big Macs do it on occasion. Might be an itchy feather or wanting something.

One of the joys of birds is deciphering their language!

Thanks for your responses! I'm just such a paranoid birdie mommy these days.

My vote, after paying attention to mine is a content and happy flap.

Both my big macs do this, Shawna - no worries (even my Amazons do it). Baxter seems quite content, and quite healthy. Look at him glow! :D

Thanks again for your responses. Baxter just does this SO much (even when he isn't eating) that it seemed so odd to me

So glad I can come to you guys for guidance and reassurance!
