Is it true that when you pet your bird form head all the way down its back to its tail that it is a sexual gesture to the bird? I was told if I have a female, I will induce eggs if I stroke it this way. ( Not sure of the sex of my bird yet but I guess this is one way to find out if it is true lol)

Yes it is true. It is not recommended to pet either sex in that way especially when they start to mature. Not only does it get a bird all excited & gives it the wrong messages it can become very embarrassing where the bird will want to hump it owner every chance it gets. A habit that is very hard to break.

Think a simple DNA test is a easier solution.

It's absolutely true! My Macaw tries to hump my dogs....lol.... They don't even pet the bird....Whenever my girls started doing their thing, they get put up cause I won't even acknowledge it....You must break them from doing so cause it's a very bad habit that can end up causing you problems down the road.
