Is it safe to keep an amazon parrot and a goffins cockatoo in the same cage temporarily?

Amazon parrot & Goffin’s cockatoo
They’re currently having to share a cage because my amazon parrot’s cage is needing to be cleaned, and possibly moved to a different location in my house. At first, they were fighting a little but now seem to be getting along and getting more comfortable with each other. However, they have been sharing food and water, and i worry they could get each other sick by sharing germs. I change out the food and water often but i still worry about the safety.

I wouldn't worry about germs unless one is sick. As long as they get along, you know better than snyone else whether they may hurt each other, but I wouldn't have them share a cage if you don't have to.

As a rule of thumb when more than one parrot in a cage give them one food dish for each parrot.
If more than two parrots in a cage add a second water dish.
You don’t want to give them anything to fight over.

The cockatoo may feel more defensive cuz it’s his/her cage being encroached on.

Also you need to consider that the cockatoo’s dust can be bad for a new world parrot.
