I want to buy a macaw. I had one smaller parrot some time ago. And I decided to try be friend with a big parrot like macaw. I read the post on kijiji.ca.
Price 1050 CA for both parrots and cage and delivery from USA. Is it a trick?

"Speaking Tamed Pair of Blue and Gold Macaw Parrots. they sings, speaks a variety of words and phrases and dances. they take a while to warm up to strangers but if you give them a treat and speak nicely to them, they will be saying your name and showing off all their funny phrases. They love to be the boss so although they play well with my two dogs, they doesn't hesitate to tell them to "shut up" or "kennel up" when they get too loud. they are close to one year old with a bit of an attitude but ready to be surrounded by positive energy that they thrives off of. Please do your research, find out how much theses parrots are worth and what kind of care they need, we love parrots and I want them to go to someone who has the time and patience for her. they will come with a king sized cage, toys, perches and food, which are all pretty costly at stores so please keep that in mind when placing an offer. they are very well kept, their feathers are in great condition and have been clipped so they can't fly if they wants , they have an awesome personality, they will have you laughing for hours! They are territorial of their cage so i would want them in a home with small children but once they warm up to you and gains trust for you they will tell you they love you and thank you when you feed them. they are good with me cleaning their cage.Interested person should get back to us"

Firstly, welcome to the forum, Shimmer. :)

The advertisement DOES sound like 100% scam! Please be careful and do NOT send any money.

There are just way too may scams out there, unfortunately.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. ;)

It sounds like a scam.....and.....if they want you to send any money.....anywhere.....it is definitely a scam.....

A way of telling this one is a scam is that you have to have a Canadian broker to import any type of cargo or live animals into Canada and nothing is mentioned about that or any import permits or quarantine permits, so yes, this is a scam.....

Yes, it most likely is a way to try ad seperate you from your money. Do yourself a favor and only deal with reputable breeders who have references. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy a bird or anything else for that matter from any place like Craigslist or Kiji listings unless you can go there and see the item and pick it up yourself. If you can not, then you will more than likely be paying for shipping with out ever receiving the item or bird(s). If the deal doesn'[t pass the smell test, (WALK AWAY).

Firstly, welcome to the forum, Shimmer. :)

;)
Thank you for welcome! I feel this forum is a very friendly.
Yes it's sounds a very suspiciously

"2-Once i am provided with the above information; i will process the transfer of ownership document to your names and address to certify your full ownership of the birds, as the new and rightful owner of Molly and Lola

3-There after i will register the birds for delivery with the company in charge for the shipping and delivery..

4-The Company then contacts you after the reservation via phone/e-mail for confirmation of address and then directs you how to make payment since you will be paying everything directly to them before they ship and deliver the birds to your home.

5-You make an upfront payment of the $1050 to them , That is for the birds and for the shipping.

6-The courier service confirms the payment and provides you with tracking details and flight schedule so that you can know the flight status and the exact time of arrival.

7-The birds are then shipped and delivered over to your home.

8-Upon arrival of the birds at your door steps, You will have to confirm to the delivery agents that you got the exact birds you ordered from me, then the courier service will issue you all the necessary documents for you to sign to certify your reception of the birds and your full ownership of the birds. There after the courier service will deduct their shipping fee from the $1050 you paid and then pay the balance to me for as adoption price for the birds."

It's a sad. The story was so romantic about Molly & Lola... I see that someone try to cheat me and another unsuspecting guys. This guy placed post at kijiji at Toronto but said he lives at Benton IL as he had discovered that I live close to Toronto.

You should look around for a good breeder, mirror lake exotics are a reputie breeder and there are many more that people can recommend.

A quality breeder can also safely ship a bird to you, and will be willing to talk to you on the phone and answer any questions you have.

I've acquired all of my birds via Craigslist and similar, but all of the purchases have been in person, and only after I have met the bird and the family in person. I would never ship a bird, nor would I ever buy a bird sight unseen. I'd even drive 8 hours each way to pick up a bird in the right circumstance.

Be patient, and you'll find what you're looking for.
