Haru - Green Cheek Conure
I read that hemp seeds are safe to give to birds as part of their diet, but I was wondering if it's safe to share some hemp milk with my green cheek.

Does anyone have any input?

It's much appreciated!

Hemp is safe for birds in small quantities.

Breeders often use Hemp to stimulate birds for breeding

Oh, the one liners that popped into my head reading this one...

Q. Is hemp safe for birds?
A. That depends, are you going to be feeding it to them, or smoking it?!

Then I found out you were talking about hemp milk...

I didn't even know hemp plants had nipples! :32:

I DIDN'T SAY THEY WERE GOOD JOKES.... I SAID THEY JUST POPPED INTO MY HEAD WHEN I READ THIS...

I've never heard of "hemp milk" but then they make "milk" out of soy and other vegetable products in this country so anything's possible. Not sure whether the seeds would be available here either, the few places that grow hemp (usually for the fibre) have special security even though they use low TCA or whatever the active ingredient in "MJ" is seedstock.

I don't know about hemp milk.... but some places do sell sterilized hemp seed for birds.

My local bird store sells small bags of it, and I've been to another bird store that sold large bags of it!
