lincoln is a little floor goblin and I like to shop non-bird specific toys so he can play with them on the floor. I really like cat toys because they're an appropriate size BUT most if not all of them either come with an optional bag of catnip or are just by default infused with catnip. I tend to stick to toys that are either no catnip or it comes with an option packet. I THINK catnip is part of the mint family so I THINK its safe but I thought I would play it on the safe side and avoid it. But what do you guys think, is it safe?

i think its safe
i but for my birds rabbit toys and they love it

Personally I would lean on the side of "when in doubt, leave it out". It pops up on the list of toxic plants on the following resource ...

I'd think that the concentration of catnip or catmint found in a cat toy might be an issue too, so personally that would make it a "no-go" for me.

As so well stated above, best to avoid. Remembering that it is a product /plant that has found a home with Cats. So, long to short: Catnip /Catmint is not for Parrots. Take care around the plushes as they are also target toward manuals.

Most the toys I get for Lincoln are like the cardboard cat scratchers or the little plastic balls so they dont have catnip or its included as an option. I just found a nice sisal rope ball I wanted to get him but it had catnip :( I dont get any of the plush things like the small mice that are ever so popular.

This is what I ended up getting with cat toys if anyone's curious. I also dipped into the rabbit toys and I'll link those too;

Rabbit: (will change out the hooks where needed)

Also got some toys directed at birds. In the end I spent 160$ with free shipping.
