Hi,i am looking to live on my own.
But there are almost no options with a separated kitchen.
Would a open one be really bad for them,?

We have an open kitchen- our living room, dining room, and kitchen are all technically one room. Just be mindful of what cookware you're using (whether they're bird safe), using the vent, and opening a window if need be. I also make sure Chili is in her cage, especially if I'm using the stove-top burners because I don't want her accidentally flying into the kitchen and getting hurt.

I have my birds on the kitchen table counter very often and never had any problems with that. They are not close to the stove though - my kitchen is pretty big. :) I don't use any non-stick cookware and don't fry, so if you take precessions like that it should be fine IMHO. Let's se what others say...

I've never lived somewhere with a door to the kitchen and I've had birds for 23 years. My oldest is an 18 yr old dove...mind you, I always return birds to cages while I'm cooking, but that's really the only thing I've ever done.

And I love to cook too :)

i am not worried about cooking when they are not in their cages, cause i won't.
they would be so fast in the cooking pan before i would blink.
I was afraid that the damps from the food itself could be dangerous.
Also am saving for ss pans right now i have a set of ceramic baking pans already.

I can't imagine food cooking odors or moisture is a problem.

I'm actually positive they aren't.

It's important to be careful with our feathered kids, but I think we need to be careful to not to be out of the world obsessive about it too.
