We went and picked up the Meyers and Red Bellied yesterday, and I had to share their first pictures:) Sorry for the poor picture quality, I only took a couple of pictures to not freak them out too much.

This is Shay and Severide, and they are still quite people shy. we ony have a couple of toys in their cage so far as they have never had any:(
We decided to do away with the nest box, and instead got this hut made from Timothy hay so they have a place to hide, but we can still see them if we want to. Darwin has one and loves it.

This is Bogie and Bacall. They are not afraid of us at all. After checking the bands, the are 19 and 21.
Bacall is the one on the swing:)

Congratulations, Terry!! All 4 of them are GORGEOUS!!! I have no doubt that they will make themselves right at home. :D

Awwww! Terry, they're so cute! They look quite at home, so I'm guessing they know they've arrived in a great spot? Happy squawks from all of my lot! XX

Congratulations Terry! Robin and Griffin here say congrats on your first Poi's :D They're all so beautiful!

They are settling in quite well. The Meyers are not afraid of anything, the Red Bellied are afraid of everything;( Time and patience. They are all eating though, so that is good.

The breeder who we got these from just called me, and wants to give me ALL her birds!
So I am frantically calling bird friends to take some so we can get them all out of there.
I can take 2 pairs, now have to find more cages...YIKES.

Oh my gosh! Good luck! :)

Terry, your two new couples are just adorable. I think you have their cages set up perfectly until they have some time to adjust. Four very lucky birds.

Hope you are able to help the previous owner to find wonderful homes for all the others. Bless you for looking out for these birds.

Terry, will you take the Derbyan pair she has, then?

Yes, we are taking the pair of Derbyans and the pair of CAGS:)
Between my friend and I we have found homes for all the rest.
One needs to go to the vet, and we are pitching in to take care of that as well.

Wow Terry. That is awesome that you have been able to help. Your house must be pretty full of beautiful birdies. :)

I would love to see a pic of the Derbyans once you have them home and settled of course. They are related to Alex's, I seem to remember reading...

Derbyans are really beautiful birds. Can be noisy though. Wow Terry, what genus of birds don't you have (and never had)? In other words, what do you still need haha :D They will all prosper in a loving home though, that's for sure!

Well, looks like I am fostering the pair of Sennies as well until the rescue has room for them:)

I will definitely post lots of pics:)

Amanda, they are just a bit bigger than the Alexes, but so remind me of them with their beautiful long tails. The ones we are getting have really ratty tails right now, but it won't take too long to fix that:)

Julie, I don't have macs or 'toos, and don't think I could handle those big beaks.

I have come to the realization that I am officially the crazy bird lady that everyone warns people about!

Congrats on your *4* new additions! All very beautiful birds. I hope the shy ones warm up to you very soon(I'm sure they will:)).

And best of luck on all those soon to be additions. Even if your just fostering some until they find forever homes, thats a lot of birds to take on!

Wow. Congratulations. Your new birdies are beauties. It's so great that you are able to get the breeder's birdies settled in their new homes quickly.

They are beautiful! Congratulations!! :D
