Parrots
Buddy, Angel and April (Cockatiels) and Tango (Sun Conure)
Tango and I have quite the long story but I will spare you the boring details and will just give you it in a (large) nutshell.

In early November I went to Petco, passed the parrot enclosure on the way to the checkout and a little sun conure followed me to the edge of his cage and when I went out of sight squawked like mad. I turned around and walked pass him the other way finding it amusing and he did the same thing. I took note of his name and proceeded to the checkout.
A few weeks went by before I went back to Petco and the same conure was still there. We played our little game again and I knelt down to talk to him. Some older kids came up, wanting to do the same thing I was doing but he just wasn't interested in them even when I went out of sight. I happened to be looking into getting some sort of parrot but I definitely did not want to get one from a large business due the fact their parrots are overpriced and are not well taken care of.
I visited him 8 times over the course of the month and he almost always seemed to recognize me if that is even possible.

On December 22nd, 2010 I brought that little sun conure home. He was overpriced at $600 but I did not seem to share the same connection with other (much cheaper) parrots as I had with him.

But enough with my rambling and here is Tango.

By the way, he is such a snuggle bug. :D

Congratulations...he's beautiful...some things are meant to be. Your not from Orange County are you?

Aww he's so cute!! Sounds like a perfect match for the both of you :D. I'm getting my sunnie in (hopefully) two days! I'm SUPER excited :D I just noticed he has little red zebra stripes on the backs of his legs lol! What a gorgeous boy :).

Thanks you two!
I'm actually from Broome County. Which is a bit northwest of Orange.
Can't wait to see some photos once you get your conure Boo. :D

Tango is georgous! :) Congrats on your addition!

On a side note, you think $600 for a sun conure is overpriced? lol Here they go for $12-1300 in pet stores :'(

Ok, i've heard of Broome County. I recently saw a pair of Sun Conures at our local Petco and i've never seen them there before....so I was just curious if you had gotten one of them :)

Thanks Beilana.
Sun Conures normally run $200 to $450 here. So plus tax he was about $640. I guess that would be a great deal where you are. :)
I think they were new here too Miriam. I believe I only saw one before Tango but haven't seen any since I purchased him. Maybe there is more of a demand for them now. :06:

I can't wait to get mine either! I was waiting all week for Saturday to come but I don't think I'll be able to get her until later in the week :(. *sigh* Well good things are worth waiting for!

In stores where I live they also go for $600, but I'm getting mine from a breede for only $300. Breeders sell them for much less here. Petco and Petsmart have them at $600 though. Right now at Petco they have a sunnie and a GCC, and the GCC (yellow-sided I noticed) is going for $350. But the same breeder I'm getting my sunnie from is selling normal GCCs for $200, and pineapples and cinnamons for $250. I think she ran out of yellow sideds when I asked.
