Tango and I have quite the long story but I will spare you the boring details and will just give you it in a (large) nutshell.
In early November I went to Petco, passed the parrot enclosure on the way to the checkout and a little sun conure followed me to the edge of his cage and when I went out of sight squawked like mad. I turned around and walked pass him the other way finding it amusing and he did the same thing. I took note of his name and proceeded to the checkout.
A few weeks went by before I went back to Petco and the same conure was still there. We played our little game again and I knelt down to talk to him. Some older kids came up, wanting to do the same thing I was doing but he just wasn't interested in them even when I went out of sight. I happened to be looking into getting some sort of parrot but I definitely did not want to get one from a large business due the fact their parrots are overpriced and are not well taken care of.
I visited him 8 times over the course of the month and he almost always seemed to recognize me if that is even possible.
On December 22nd, 2010 I brought that little sun conure home. He was overpriced at $600 but I did not seem to share the same connection with other (much cheaper) parrots as I had with him.
But enough with my rambling and here is Tango.
By the way, he is such a snuggle bug.
