Hello everyone!
I've been lurking on the sight for the last few days and have finally decided to introduce ourselves!
For the last two years I have been dreaming of owning an AG and because of the cost never thought it would happen. I personally know two greys. One of which I get to visit twice a month.
Well last week my friend that owns the grey I see all the time found an add on craigslist for a Grey. It was 5 minutes from her so she went to visit thinking maybe she would add a second grey into her home. Well even though she fell madley in love with this sweet grey her hubby told her no sorry one grey is enough.
So she then of course told me all about the grey and I couldnt say no!
History on Gizmo...
Im her 5th owner in 5 years! She/he? lol. Is 5 years old and is a plucker. Her first owner we know nothing about, her second owner had her for two years and was a chain smoker that decided after a while the bird was no fun and put her in a garage all alone. Which then she started to pluck of course. The 3rd owner got her in January 2013 to rescue her parsay. But she had her up until two weeks ish ago and sold her to her 4th owner. Her reasons for selling was due to no time for her after all. 4th owner has only lived here for two weeks and Gizmo was an impluse buy she had him for two days then she listed him on craigslist and that is how she came to live with me!
I will be her last home.
She would not let the previous two owners touch her except for step ups. She has a large vocabulary that Im still learning new parts of it daily. On the first day I met her she begged for me to scritch her. Once I got her all settled in at home she started talking whistling and being a happy grey. She now is spoiled rotten, is with me most of the day even when I go clean houses sometimes lol. This bird acts like she has lived with me for forever! My husband is in love and thinks its awesome we have a bird that talks and will eat healthy human food.
I also have two other parrots. 2 little lineolated parakeets. Both I purchased as freshly weaned babies.
I feel my flock is complete now. And I cant wait to share more with everyone as time goes on!
I also have created a facebook page for Gizzy if anyone is interested..
