Introducing Bailey to his new Cage..

So last Friday Bailey came out of quarantine!! YAH
We brought Bailey and his current cage downstairs and placed it beside the beautiful new cage we are hoping he will accept as his new home. Everyday since we have talked to him about it and are constantly touching the new cage, explaining to Bailey all the new and exciting things about it, we also have placed some walnuts, treats, a bath bowl that we splash our fingers in and pretend to play with the toys, some new and some that he's already aquainted with. So it is now 6 days and Bailey is showing no interest in it at all! It is close enough to his current cage that he could just step over but until now he's No not going!! I know these things take time and Grey's are slow acceptors to new things but I am anxious for him to accept it because his old cage is horrible and I believe not good for him...I tested a magnet and it stuck! Not good right.
PLEASE advise me what to do, my husband says the next time he is perched on my arm I should just put him on the new cage, I personally don't like to be that pushy!

I fully agree - I dont see it as being pushy, he probably doesnt know that the new cage is to be climbed into. I commend you on your approach and understanding that changing cages can be traumatic . I would pop him in and then take the other cage away. Do it in the morning when your there so that if he does stress a bit you can give him cuddles and let him know its going to be ok. Im a firm believer in rescue remedy which is a natural product. It calms the bird and keeps there stress levels down. Im from South Africa and am not sure you get it where you are. Take his toys and goodies from his old cage as well as anything that is familiar and put it in the new cage. Keep us posted

I tell my wife, it's like when Lucy snatches the football front in front of Charlie Brown just before he kicks it and he winds up flat on his back every time. You would think us guys would learn, but NOPE!
