One Lovebird - Romeo
I was given a Love bird *Romeo* i don't know much about his history, or if he is even a male, he isn't a tamed bird. I was told he was previously with another Love bird but unfortunately she died. I'm not sure of his age, would it be to late to introduce a new friend *Female* to his cage within time? I've had Romeo for about 2 months now and he's started to settle and feel more and more stable in his new home, he was previously biting his chest feathers out but since i've started letting him out of his cage they've started to grow back quite quick. He's a lot better than what he was when i first got him, but i think he would defiantly benefit from having a friend to acompny him when i'm not around, would this be ideal or would it be to early to introduce them? :green1:

have you had them both out n the same area. our close have u had them together.

I think you misunterstood the question, i havn't yet brought another Love bird but in time i would like to once i've been able to train Romeo (the possible male Love bird) to ensure i could handle another bird of it's kind. I would like to know when the right time to buy another Love bird and to introduce it to Romeo would be? Thank you for you're help though :)

Bringin/buying a new lovebird to live in 1 cage with romeo might be not a good idea, because you are not sure of his sex. If you have put the same sex bird with him, they might fight, even different sex birds still fight if they don't like each other. It's better if you put the 2nd bird in another cage where they can see each other and let them play out of the cages together everyday to socialize them. When they've become best friend, you can put them in 1 cage. Note that it's important that u must first quarantine the new bird to see if she's healthy or not. ;)
