Intoducting New Conure

So tomorrow we will be adding to our flock, a beautiful GC male we named Tyson. I'm needing some advice on how to approach introducing each other. For example;
1. How long should we quarantine and what does quarantine entail ( keeping him in cage, not letting him around Cooper ect. )
2. Best way to introduce Cooper ( female ) and Tyson
3. I don't want them to breed so how can they be friends without breeding and if they do, what do you do with the little eggs if you don't want them to hatch.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on the new arrival.....Some vets suggest 60 days quarantine because of the incubation time on some diseases, while others say 45 days, but many people settle on 30 days.....it really depends on what you can do and are prepared to do for the quarantine.....

To make an effective quarantine, the new bird should be in a different atmospheric environment withe separate air handling, but since that's not practical in our homes, we usually settle on another room.....

As to introduction, after quarantine, leave her in her cage & take him to her for the introduction, then put him in his cage, so she doesn't think he is replacing her.....one-on-one with her is always a good idea if the existing bird seems a bit upset.....

Read up on fake eggs, removing eggs & replacing them with fake eggs.....when eggs are not going to hatch, hens will often go the full 28-30 nesting period, though some will abandon infertile or fake eggs early.....if you simply remove the eggs, a hen will often lay a replacement, which is not good for her body.....
