So i have a bird addiction and will be getting 2 sun conures in about 3 weeks to add tomy flock of 2 ringnecks and 2 cockatiels.
what do i neeed to know about these guys beofre i bring them home?

I have a huge cage ready and waiting for them so that is 1 thing i dont have to worry about

I love sun conures, they are so cute and playful. They like toys and lots of wood to chew up... They likes grapes that is my conures favorite fruit his favorite veggie is jalapeno he tosses the food around until he finds them in the bowl.. Goofy boy he is you would think he would do that for something better like a rasin or a nut LOL

BTW Sun conure can be loud very loud so loud my conure can be heard from my driveway when his cage was in the living room when he saw my car he would screech so loud i could hear him in the car with the windows up, radio on normal and the garage door opening.I had to remove his cage from the living area because no matter where i put him in that room he could see my driveway and he would screech the whole time until i entered the house.

Thanx for that info. Hope mine won't scream me out of house and home.

I have a parrot cage ready and waiting for them

I just brought Emmy home a few weeks ago and can also testify to be prepared for the ear-shattering screams you will be subjected to. One of my dogs is so freaked out by her screaming that he's had to go in anti-anxiety meds.

My girl likes broccoli, snow peas, sugar peas and rainbow chard for her fresh veggies. I give her cinnamon sticks and star anise which she loves. She also goes through wood toys faster than a beaver.

She's such a cuddle monster and loves to sleep in the collar of my shirt. Very playful and fun.

Be prepared for the noise.:orange:

Aww poor dog. I concur about the ear shattering scream. My 8 month old sun is cuddly, playful and sweet but can also be demanding and very noisy if they wanted to. Make sure you, your family and neighbors are aware of how loud they can get.

Oh dear I hope I didn't make a mistake then by getting 2 . Don't want them to teach my keeps to scream

They are noisy like everyone is saying, just be prepared for that. My poor family tip toes around my babes in the morning in hopes to not start the morning screams!

Hello, let me lay my two cents on the matter. You mentioned that you have a addiction to birds so why not add two different kinds of birds instead of the same species? Normally birds of the same species bond to one another and they typically make more noise. You are already getting a loud bird then why do you want to double that kind of nosie? If you can withstand that type of noise and it will not bother your house hold so be it. But if you are having 2nd thoughts then do more research because they are so many different parrots that you could possibly have. Just food for thought. I am also guility of being a bird addict but I only add different type of species because all of them have their own unique personalitiy. Peace.

I wanted to get types of conures but none are available. So this breeder offered me the suns and I have serious issues about single birds. Also I need the same types of birdies cause I need them to be housed in the same cage. Really would have liked a green cheek but well.
If they screec I will have to just deal with it and try teach them
