2 Female indian ringnecks
Firstly I'm not new to birds, I've had a few in the past.

Yesterday I took 2 female Ringnecks under my wing, lol. It was either take them or they were going to be set free to fend for them selfs. It was a no brainer.

I know theses girls are still stressed from the move, One of them continue to foul her water with food. Will this habbit change? Should I go to a water bottle and get rid of the open bowl?

Welcome to the forum!Congrats on the new birds!

Could you tell us about your setup and we love pictures!

Food dunking is a common behavior in some birds. My bird used to do it a lot but to get her to stop I ended up putting a toy right beside her water bowl. Then I switched it with others every now and then. But it's nothing to worry about.Experiment around with some toys to see if that changes anything. If not other users probably will reply and give some more information.Welcome again!

My set up is simple, each bird has her own cage as I was told they don't play well together, but like being side by side. I was given Rosie and Daisy along with their cages, toys and food.

These things I know, their diet wasn't proper, they got little or no attention. They were for the most part decoration.

I'm slowly starting them on proper diet, It's amazing how happy a bird can be when you give them a slice of apple.

I'm not sure how long the other parents had them, but their diet had been limited to a seed diet only. I'm well aware they need and want so much more.

I'll get some pics up soon

here are my girls Rosie and Dasiy, it doesn't really matter who is who, because the are exact leaving personallity out of it.

Now I was told that both of these girls disliked females, well I have always poopooed that with all animals. They dislike who they dislike. It really has nothing to do with gender. Case in point, both of these girls are just crazy about my 13yo daughter. I was amazed to see how they both reacted to her.

My Daughter is spending the night tonight and I must say, these 2 feathered girls in my life are pretty happy she's here.

Neither of these girls really know their names, so chances are they will be changed. Personallity will dictate the new names.

They are home now, safe and sound.

Yea, and last night I had them in my bedroom because I hadn't the time to make room out front, they did very well and *****ed at me when I turned the light on for a few seconds to go to bed. lol

I was told my amazon might hate women, but it isn't true. He just hated the former owner's new wife for whatever reason. He loves me and seems to also like the female vet and her assistants.

I do have a horse that is scared of men. It takes a looong time of him knowing one to trust him.
