In home parrot grooming

The store I worked at was the last place in town besides vets to offer grooming. And of course I was the only groomer. A lot of folks want me to still offer grooming for them. My question is, what do you think is a reasonable price to pay for in home grooming?

If I remember correctly, most Petstores and veteranarians charge absurd prices for grooming, like in the $20-$25 range. At least, that's how it is over here. Personally, I think a fairer price would be $10-$15.

We have no Avain vet or groomer here. What exacly is included when you say "grooming"....nails, beak? I'd gladly pay $20 to get Freddie's nails clipped....I expect I'm going to have to do it myself, and I'm not looking forward to it!

Groomings include wings, nails, and beak. With beaks I used my judgement, i will trim back overgrowth, however I refuse to trim beaks unless it is in the best interest of the bird. For example, so people want the points grinded off so their pet won't hurt them as much if they bite, I simply refuse to groom for that reason. Also if there appears to be a medical condition I refuse to do beak groomings until they have seen a vet.

Currently I am charging $25 for the first bird regardless of size. That covers the home visit. If there are more than one bird $10-$25 depending on size and how much grooming is needed...

Mobile groomers here charge on average $25.00 per bird for wings and nails....

I wish we had more parrot owners here in southern indiana! I'd go full time doing this. As of now, it's just something I do on the side. It's fun and it feels good to help little birdies feel better. You can almost hear a sigh of relief from a bird whose nails were so long that they couldn't hardly get around their cage.
