Turquoise Yellow Sided Green Cheek Conure -Paris- Hatched 03/03/18*

Since he's been back home he's definitely improved but is still a huge handfull and speaking of huge he seems to have gotten bigger lol.

Having 3 birds is really different than having 2, for starters I have run out of shoulders. Good thing Paris likes to be held like a baby lol.

Finley still likes to help me eat my lunch and dinner when he is allowed to and still likes kisses on the beak.

And don't all 3 of them look magnificent together!

Thank you everyone! And he's definitely bigger and I suspect he'll get even bigger still. I'm lucky that they all (mostly) get along with a small tiff here and there and can all be on the big living room Java Tree together (with close supervision of course).

THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL TOGETHER! They remind me of a lot of the color-schemes I saw in India.

taking a second look at that picture he looks much bigger than he used to! He also looks a lot more 'with it' than before. Maybe just time of day or maybe Ollie and Paris are giving him some reassurances and advice on how to birb

I have been making sure and spending a lot of extra time with him (much to Ollie's annoyance) and he seems to be getting a little more trusting as he seems to have come back to us slightly fearful of hands. That's definitely something I can work with and ot's getting better already. I am making sure that ONLY positive things come from my hands with ZERO negative interaction with my hands except if I put him down (never on the floor as that is a trigger for him) if he bites. I have to say knowing what I know now about Finley is really helping me as far as how I am training him or trying to train him because I know he is not a normal bird and may not respond like a normal bird. I think little by little we'll get there. More importantly I have learned to relax more when it comes to Finley. I used to get all angry and frantic which I am sure he picked up on and that really made things worse. Now I have stopped letting myself get angry at him and just remember he has issues and to just move on because it's not his fault. So yeah. We're working on things! He is getting his adult feathers in too and he's starting to looks very grown up!

he's just a little 'Special' that's all! :D Maybe the first documented case of bird-autism, I can't see reason why it couldn't affect birds.

I'm sure it'll all work out in the end, life has a way of doing that (says the guy who had a panic attack this morning over some invoices!)

Now I know why you've opted for Group Photo upcoming POTM theme! Gorgeous picture!

@Ltriggs: Yeah that's exactly what it is...bird autism. He can learn certain things in 3 seconds but other things it seems I can't train him in at all. I think this might be the answer to Finley's issues and he definitely has panic attacks too ..like 100% and out of what seems like no where.

@ Aratingettar Lol shhhhhhhhhhhhh

Good thing you have that post separating Ollie from the other two, I could totally see him trying to knock them off. lol.

I'm so glad you got Finley back. I just love special needs animals.

Ollie is a nice sun conure lol. He gets alone with both the birdies unless then get in his face then he'll give a small warning nip. He's a good boy. I taught him not to bite me or any other member of the flock and he actually likes to follow the rules. He is a stickler for the rules, it's weird actually. Does Skittles like to follow the rules?

I know I tease about Skittles and make him sound like a hellraiser, lol, but he's actually very well behaved. He's incredibly obedient but he's also incredibly opinionated. I think some of the "diva-esque" behaviors he presents are actually a result of his protective nature. But he is actually incredibly affectionate, with me that is. He just will not tolerate ANYONE else (though he seems to be okay with the vet, (but they know how to properly restrain him).

He does, for the most part, follow the rules but he also tests boundaries everyday which keeps me on my toes. There are times when he goes where he's not allowed and on occasion has pooped in "no-no" places. He knows that the only place he is to poop is in his cage, on his playstand or on 'poop mats'. For the most part, he abides.

He just acts very entitled a lot of the time. For example, if I am eating something that he wants a bite of he will try to steal it. Whether that is flying onto my hand when I have it in my hand or flying onto my shoulder and trying to pry my mouth open. Just this evening, I was cleaning my teeth with a toothpick and he flew over onto my shoulder and reached over and yanked it right out of my mouth. He was quick and caught me off guard. He gave it back to me though, lol. So I gave him something to chew on.

He was funny the other day. I was changing his water before I left to run errands and he signaled he wanted a drink so I brought it over to him on his playstand. The little stinker climbed onto the dish and started trying to bathe in it. It was so funny seeing him try to fit his body into the small water dish. lol. Its been VERY hot here in Maine this summer. I gave him a bath before I left. He's so spoiled.

But enough about us, I'm glad Ollie is so well-behaved. I'd imagine that helps a lot with Finley.

Heh and I just wanted to comment that probably he does respect the rules, but only the rules given by him :D So I confirm you make him sound like a hellraiser. But a hellraiser as cute as possible :orange:

See, there's a lot to be said for maturity. :) I say this as a very mature rival.

As Wrench first observed, the Bird has grown since the earliest photo. We went back and looked at photos, he continued to grow in size until he got his rooster credentials.

We here are very glad the Finster is home again.

Finley is still doing amazing! He didn't even bite me yesterday which is a huge progress. He is definitely a rooster now and takes roostering very seriously.

I'm happy to hear Finley is back home and doing well. I for one support you.
