Improving bird's outdoor view

Hello everyone! I've had a GCC for about a year and a half and of course I spoil him silly. One of his favorite things to do is to stare out the window (bird tv, no subscriptions required). I've recently moved from a big green yard with trees and birds to a view of apartments and a lake. While he still enjoys the watching the fountain and the occasional duck and person that walks by...I'm worried that it won't be as stimulating as his old view.

Any suggestions on what I can add outside my window to interest my bird? I have a whole patio to work with. I was going to at least add some plants...but am also debating even adding a hummingbird feeder (He is very calm when it comes to wild birds). What do your birds like to see in the outside world?

EASY! set up birdhouses...on stands or whatever....put out wild seed he will have birds to look at and rabbits and chpmunks and more birds.

If you can't dig the stands in the set up a hanger your neighbors won't mind.

Wild finches are super easy to attract with a small vertical type feeder filled with nyjer seed only. You'll get all kinds of small birds with that, including goldfinches if they are natural to your area.

Indeed... add a bird feeder. I save my throwaway seed/pellet mix and add it to bird feeders right outside the windows. Both birds love watching wild birds outside, and even call to them.

Thanks everyone! I just hung up a new bird feeder as well as a small wind spinner, which both my bird and I seem to enjoy. I may add something green out there too soon...
