So Monday afternoon I went to St. Louis with my mom. I came back last night. My wife was home, but apparently being gone a whole 36 hours is unforgivable.

It was late when I got home, but I took the chicken out for a couple minutes to say night to get before I went to bed. I opened her door and she practically jumped to me, ran up my shoulder, and snuggled against my face. I let her stay there while I got things situated, then told her it was night night time and settled her in.

This morning, it was more of the same, but with quite a bit more beak involved.I think I am being "punished" for leaving her for so long. Granted, my wife was home and let her out, but I am her person, and anything other than me is unacceptable. She hasn't bit hard, but she gets mouthy when she's upset.

On the plus side, she apparently figured out how to align the rings on her foraging toy, because the almond I put in there was gone.

We are not allowed to go out and have a social life! Didn't you know that?? ;) LOL!

My Savannah is the one the tends to have the attitude when I've been gone to long. She is my most snuggly bird but also the one that gets the most bent out of shape when I'm not spending enough time with her! :D

Have you been put in your place now, lol? I love when they cozy up and snuggle.

Attention: OutlawedSpirit!

Well!
You have a very simple choice, buster!
What is more important? Your bird's feelings or work/socializing/exercising/traveling??

Can't I have my came and eat it too? In all reality though, most of the time when we travel, she'll go with. This was a special circumstance considering it was only a day and a half and my mom's employer was footing the hotel bill, so I couldn't really make sure we got a bird friendly one.

Oh, that sounds so wonderful...
I'm glad you have those plans.
Otherwise, that pretty chicken may commit domestic abuse on you!

lol better get to makin up .. maybe a diamond studded toy is in order :)

WTG on the rings of fortune - Gracie despises it - she got so angry and frustrated that the precious walnut was trapped in it she resorted to the "bang it against the cage to break it open" technique

I thought that was what the pretty chicken was going to do at first, but thankfully she figured it out. Pretty quick too. I think I need to get a few more challenging foraging toys.

The chicken nugget* around here makes it clear when I've been gone an unforgivable amount of time. The birds go with us when we travel, but when the two boys with medical needs get hospitalized, the birds have to stay home with MrC. Two years ago the Amazon had to stay home with me for 10 days while MrC was in Mexico, and wouldn't speak to him for days afterwards.

*The kids call the Senegal "chicken nugget" because he's so much smaller than the Amazon, and now the macaw.

Aw she missed you! Little beaky but it's kind of sweet in its own way :)

My love, the Rickeybird, is no genius. He's kinda my L'il Abner (for those of you old enough to remember the brawny but not bright cartoon character... I assure you, the Rickybird AND I are both old enough). Tricky toys frustrate him. Dear Mr. Wrench sent us a foraging toy, and when it held treats, it was nothing but fury and frustration. Empty, he loves it! That's my guy, and I love him!

Yup, you're her person! Accept no substitutes! Lol!

But don't worry, she'll get past it... eventually.
