Just made me tear up!!! SO true. Each life is unique and it's our own failure when we can't see it. My Percy was IT! One of the coolest birds i ever met, and he was a cheap pet shop budgie.

I read it to my sister over the phone and got choked up too. My Basil was a bargain at $40...however, his cage and toys have more than made up for that bargain price.

yeah i don't like when cost factors into how much you can love a living thing. (i have one dog i paid for and 2 who were free or almost free......no one can tell them apart by 'value'.....and actually the one everyone says is the beautiful one was free.)

That's so sweet! I love getting to interact with my friends little birds, I'm actually going to be baby sitting two conures(peach front & sun) and two parakeets from Thursday to Sunday.

So so true, and I can say for sure, that no matter how small the bird, their personality is definitely not "small", my gosh my little mini is a huge clown! And she thinks she is a big bird, always going after Audrey hahaha
