I'm also hesitating to get one female Illeger. We have 6 months old male Ekkie. They both met when few days ago we went to his breeder - honestly we all fell in love.
So what would you say. Could that turn out good 6 month old male ekkie and 3 month female Illeger?

What do you mean by “together”

If you mean having them in the same household? Sure, plenty of people have two birds or more. It’s just a matter of balancing their needs.

If you mean them getting along, you can’t know that until the birds are already in the home. But then getting along or not shouldn’t be a driving force in getting a 2nd bird (I.e. “I want my bird to have a friend”). You get another rbird if you have the time space energy and love to give another flock member.

Both birds are still babies. If you get a new one, you must quarantine for a minimum of 45 days (w 3 months being ideal). If you cannot do a separate air space, then far apart rooms for the duration is okay if you are careful about what you may transfer in dust between the 2 on your clothes, hair etc.

Your birds in questions are both babies, so just because they get along now, does not mean that will last. Babies vs adults are like human babies vs adults.

They may or may not get along in the long-run, so you must be positive that you have enough time to interact with both of them separately (in the event that they cannot be out at the same time). That means 6 hours a day total at 3 per bird. This will also apply during quarantine, as hanging out together is not an option. Keep in mind that they all must have a solid 10 hours of sleep nightly on a schedule. When you are looking at a minimum of 3 hours out per bird during quarantine (unless you have 2 people working with them, 1 per bird) then that can be tough with a work schedule (because they still need that set 10 hours and a set bedtime/ wake-up)
