When she knows its time to leave she tries hiding herself !

Also would like to make this note: When she is on my bed frame and if I fall asleep she wont move until I wake up and make a move. So I would be sleeping/napping/fake-closing my eyes for a few minutes, and the second i wake up and move, she then stretches out. It is so mind-blowing.. I have no idea why she doesn't move until I do. I have experimented so many times and every single time I notice she moves right after I roll/tumble or move.

Maybe someone here has experienced similar ?

I suspect maybe it might be some evolutionary behavioural adaptation so that if one wakes up first, it doesn't move and wake up the rest of the flock?
Not sure but would love to hear about this from anyone else if they know.

Have a great one guys !

eeeeeee! soooo cute!
my dog does the same thing when im sleeping, he will lay in bed with me as long as im there but every time i roll over or move he jumps right up like its wake up time..but if he notices im not getting up yet he lays back down for more cuddles :)

You got it! I have two birds, so I can tell you if one moves then the other one moves, or they both start moving when I move .......... 3 of us is a flock.......:D

What a great picture! You should caption it and enter it in this month's photo of the month contest!

Love that photo!

It's very sweet of your bird to let you sleep.

When we moved out here from California (portable playstands, no room for cages), I had to put Maggie's playstand right next to my bed, or she would climb into bed with me.

Next to my bed, where she could see my face, she waited until I woke up, then immedately hopped on my chest.

Once, when I wasn't feeling well, and had a bad reaction to medication, I awoke to find my Red Lored Amazon had spent the night watching over me.

That is so adorable! We need to give animals much more credit for intelligence and consciousness.

Thank you !
Reading your Amazon watch over you hit some of my emotions.. so beautiful! It is truly so remarkable.. these signs of love and care being displayed by such innocent individuals. I find in a way that it humbles us, and makes us realise that amongst nature and all its beauty we are not the alone. Animals love and care and manage to derive some intrinsic happiness deep within us that no-other human could.

Great picture.

Thank you for the nice comment :)

Fantastic photo and backstory! I agree with Terry, it will be a great POTM entry!
