Two parakeets. Kindle and Charlie
I have not posted recently because I could not find anytime. i have been trying to train my two parakeets. Kindle and Charlie live in the same cage. I have been trying to train them but it has been less than succesful. I was looking on youtube the other night and came across a video on training budgies that really helped the name will be at the bottom. Well all this method requires is love a little patience and millet. You really need millet. You use this in the morning and at night. What you do is you hold the millet on the opposite side of the cage your birds are on. Just hold it there. Eventually they will get interested in the food because you took there food out about an hour before training. When one budgie gets curious the other will to. As your birds get mor used to eating the millet from your hand turn your hand flat and slowly increase the distance from your birds until they have to step on your hand to get to the millet. BE PATIENT if they do not come immediatly. They will trust me. When they are comfortable stepping on your hand for millet start to take it away until there is none and they step up. When you have this down you can start letting them out. Just sit with the door open and allow them out on there own. Once they are comfortable coming out on there own start moving away from them holding the millet. Hopefully they will fly to the millet. You are teaching them flight recall. Have fun. This method really works. I tried and at first i thought they would never come and then guess what. One of my parakeets that is more scared of me stepped on my hand before the one that already trusted me!! I hope you have fun and sucess with this.:greenyellow::greenyellow:
