So my new adopted CAG Chloe prefers my boyfriend and brother over me. I was then told that apparently she was sold before and that the owner was a woman, and Chloe fell in love with her husband and not her, so the woman returned her.

I've spent 20 times more hours than either of the men that have come in contact with her but she rushes to the cage to get head pets from them and does not do that to me.

What do you guys do if you have a bird that prefers the opposite sex?

You could start exuding testosterone, I guess. Somebody speculated they smell it. Greybeard has never liked men; young boys ok. I have to carry him on a perch.

My Quakers like playing my son better then me. So I got a little tricky. I pinched his t-shirt wrapped it around my arm next moment they were coming to me. Not sure if sure if it's the smell of teenage tshirts but it worked lol.

you can have the men in the house do the things she doesn't like, such as clipping nails and putting her back in her cage etc. then you can take her out of his cage, feed him, give her treats, all the good stuff :). you can also have a system in which each person in the house interacts with her in a different way. for example, one person is the cuddler, another is the playful person, another gives her all her food. you can all give these things to her, but do it so that if she wants one thing like cuddles she goes to you, if she wants another thing like play time she goes to your husband, if she wants treats she goes to your son. this way she has to interact with the whole family to get everything she wants. another good idea is the 60:40 rule explained in this link:

just be careful she doesn't over bond to your husband or son, the article helps a little with that also.
hope this helped and good luck :)

I dont have an answer to this as Codie is exactly the same.. she loves me, but will not tolerate any Men whatsoever!
