Tony. OWA gone but never forgotten..
CAG Named Azarra..
I was just wondering has anyone tried giving ice cream to our birdys or are there any problems with doing this... George.

You shouldn't have any problems other than maybe creating an addict.....no chocolate syrup or fudge sauce.....

I'll be the first to admit it- I gave Jackie his first taste last night... It was a TINY amount and don't plan on making it a regular thing. It was hilarious to watch his reactions and his little tongue lapping it up lol

Neytiri loves ice cream. Only a taste though.

Ice cream is my budgies food heaven! Only a wee bit though, they have issues digesting lactose!

I don't know about it. It contains milk and sugar, both of them are not so good for parrots I think.

Thanks for all the replys, i gave Azarra a little on a spoon and she lapped at it then she tried to pick it up with her beak and it dropped to the bottom of the cage, but she made sure she still got it though..

Don't know if you can find them in your part of the world, but in the 70s, before in-refrigerator ice crushers became available, mini-ice cube trays were fashionable.....last year I was looking for a particular old type lavatory & found two of these mini cube trays that I'm pretty sure were brand new, anyway, I freeze fruit juice & give each bird 2-3 cubes at a time.....Heidi, my Patagonian has figured out that if she dallies, hers will be melted before she knows it.....once she gets hers, she sees nothing else until she's finished.....

All of my guys prefer cold/cool baths/showers & will even do the communal thing if I put ice cubes in the bathing bowl.....
