My first ever birds… mey may not have had much time with me, but their memories were carved into my heart and replay in my mind often… so, I will be sharing photos of these two.

First ever photo of these two. They came from a neglectful home, and had been left in the basement, apparently.

Tea was staring into my soul, haha

This was when I got them their little play gym. They enjoyed hanging out on the top. I remember when they first saw if, they were like “what in tarnation?”.

Ignore the fnaf bedsheets lmao, I was going through a phase. Anyway, ice was starting to take treats from my hand, and here he had an oat groat… those were his absolute favorite treats.

These two little old men just staring at me… watching.

Their setup was still new, and I was just able to afford one or two toys a week for them, and a perch every now and then. They were happy with it, though.

This was before I learned how bad mirrors were. They were absolutely adorable.

And my absolute favorite picture of these two- the one that also makes me the saddest… such a happy moment.

after the loss of tea, ice and I relied on each other for company and companionship… this moment was so bittersweet. It hadn’t been that long since the passing of Tea, and this was a brief moment where I was laughing and Ice was happily singing again.

Ice had gone quiet again… the room wasn’t empty, though it sure felt like it. Ice didn’t sing for a while after Tea had passed… so our room just felt… dead. the tv was on almost all the time, to fill that void.

Ice was waiting on me to give him a treat.

Ice was starting to cheer up again… he was beginning to help heal my heart in the process.

I miss these two, every day still…

They were beautiful birds❤️

Also, I noticed something common between your Ice and Tea and my Limonka and Szafirek:
- they were our first ever fids
- they passed away
- they were green and blue budgies
- Limonka had EXACTLY the same mirror! (and also it was before I learnt how bad they are)

Awh, how old were they? Ice and tea were 7 and 8, from what I could figure out.

What beautiful budgie boys they were! So happy and taken care of so well by their human. I'm glad you got Cricket because a home isn't a home without at least one budgie!

My budgies could live on oat groats. They eat them first and don't bother with the rest of the seeds until the oat groats are all gone. They love them cooked into their chop too.

Their age was uknown. Limonka was almost 5 years with us and Szafirek was 3,5 years with us (actually there is little over 1 year difference between their deaths, got the same day)

What a beautiful tribute to Ice and Tea. Thank you for sharing them with us. I know you will always miss them and look back on the happy times you had together.

They really were gorgeous, inside and out… such sweet little birds. I do regret many things that I did, and the mistakes I made. I won’t make those same mistakes again. Cant be a new person, making the same old mistakes.

yeah, homes aren’t homes without a budgie (or a snooty cockatiel). Birds bring all the life into a home, after all! Little rainbow flying chaos potatoes (flying rats).

I don’t think there’s any budgie that DOESNT like oat groats! It’s just some have a very passionate liking towards them, like yours do lol

I just got chills down my spine reading the last part… It was not too far from a year before Ice passed away (9 months), but it was the same day and same time (February and November 18th). I don’t know why, but it’s a little bone chilling… really interesting how we had very similar experiences there.

Thank you. I felt it was needed… can’t always be sad over the good times. Those times were good… very good… I do miss those fun times, and they helped me learn things the hard way, and some things in a really traumatic way. But, it has helped Rico and Cricket, and it has helped me grow a much greater appreciation and understanding of them. I’ll always miss those stinky boys <3

If we didn't get birds because we couldn't accept eventually losing them we would be depriving ourselves of so much joy while they are with us. I'm really glad you got Cricket.
