I've been thinking for awhile now that I wouldn't mind a new addition to my flock. The only thing is I can't decide is if I want a GCC or a Quaker.. Can anyone who owns a GCC or Quaker, tell me a little more about them?
Thanks!!

Since every parrot has a unique personality, what I tell you about my Quaker parrot Ralph won't be true for every Quaker. In fact, Quakers generally have the reputation for being noisy and cage aggressive, and Ralph is neither. He is curious and intelligent, stubborn and bossy, playful and funny. He knows and understands a lot of words, but isn't too talkative; he has more fun making clicking and tapping sounds and imitating the "beep" of the toaster-oven. He doesn't bite often-- mostly when I handle his food dish, which he doesn't like at all. He's fussy about food-- it has to be prepared "just right" or he won't eat it. He's not really a cuddly parrot, but when he's out of his cage, he wants to be perched somewhere on me. :) Other Quaker parronts will tell you their parrots have some similar characteristics, and some that are very different.

I have a quaker too. cooper is a bit cage aggressive but usually isn't to loud. he is just very chatty all day but not very loud. but like all birds he does have a few screams once in a while. he is a bit wary of new people. and most people that don't handle him. like he is great with me, good with my parents, and doesn't like my little brother to much. haha. like cnyguy said they are all different

Well about the GCC's, they are really playful, curious, noisy but not bad, and territorial. They are not the best talkers but their petality (personality) will make up for that. I LOVE my GCC, he is my baby but he does get nippy a bit -.- but is just a real doll. I would recommend a GCC! Good luck! :)

Oh ya one more thing, they are SO cuddly. So if you want a cuddle bug a GCC is the bird for you.

I've never had a more cuddly pet...no dog, no cat has ever been as affectionate as my GCC. They will smother you if you let them.

I agree!! I Love snuggles Kiwi gives me..she'll snuggle up to my cheek or under my chin, or into my hand, get all puffy and gives kisses. There's nothing like it! Makes up for all her other cheekiness! ^.^

It also depends on the State you live in as Quakers are illegal in certain states!!

They are illegal in my state of Australia (Western Australia) too, along with African Greys, for some odd reason. Greys are so expensive here ($5000+ each) that the idea of a pair escaping and forming a wild population is laughable. I can understand the Quakers being banned, as they've escaped and founded wild populations in many places, apparently. Lorikeets have done the same thing, around Perth WA and Auckland NZ.
