Before I start - let me say everything seems fine now.

One terrific thing about our new Grey, Qbert is that he loves to take a bath. It took us by pleasant surprise, but he just loves it. So today I decided to see if he would enjoy being in the shower. We have a suction cup perch from our other birds. So I was trying to decide the best placement for him. I thought I had everything set up. Well, I opened the door to the shower. No problem. He tilted his head as if inquiring about what was going on. I slowly moved him towards the perch and he was doing great. He started to step onto the perch then suddenly he was really flipping out and I couldnt figure out why he wasnt getting his balance. It turns out the perch was sliding downwards and of course no bird likes a perch that moves unexpectedly. He was gripping with his beak pretty badly, but I was able to keep calm. He finally got onto the perch which seemed to stop sliding. Then the entire perch just dropped... and so did Qbert! Right into the shower spray. He stood completely still and didnt freak out, but... when I set my hand down to step up he was freaked out and while trying to step up he really bit me hard. It was just out of need to get off the floor of the shower. He wasn't mad.

I certainly did an awful job of ruining an fun experience for him. I placed him on the perch in our bedroom for the rest of the morning and when it was time to go back to his cage downstairs he stepped up with no problems and calmly went into his cage.

He is a great Grey and probably taking this better than I am. I can't wait to get home and make sure he is still accepting my apology

Poor guy. It doesn't sound like he is mad at you. Try not to feel bad. You did what you could to rescue him. We all have the best of intentions and sometimes things don't goes and planned. I'm glad he is ok. Hopefully your soar hand is, too!

Ohhhh poor Qbert. I think he'll quickly forget it. In books about Greys authors often say that they tend to have something like PTSD over each traumatic experience. In reality I think it's not that bad especially if you have a bird with a high self esteem.
So don't worry and don't blame yourself.

Qbert was definitely on the mend yesterday :)

He greeted me when I came home and immediately stepped up. I place him on his table top perch and he kept himself busy destroying his toys.
