I need their trust

Algeria, Oran city.
Parrots
Tiel : A male cockatiel.
Cocka : A female cockatiel.
They're both 1 year old.
Hello everyone! New member here.
How do I get my cockatiels' trust? I got them 2 weeks ago (I just realized lol) and they still don't trust me. They don't get out of their cage even if I leave the door open and move away to make them feel safe. The male (Tiel) eats from my hand (only treats) , but the female (Cocka) bites me whenever I try to feed her. Also most of the time they would fight instead of playing together even though they are paired cockatiels. If they move, they move for food and water and sometimes to play with the swing or to climb around the cage, otherwise they just sit on the perch preening or just chilling. They only whistle in the morning when I open the window for sunlight and sometimes when I move them to another room but they don't seem to react to other cockatiels noises or music.
I'm so worried about them and I don't know why they don't act like other cockatiels.
Please help.

The links posted above are excellent. Also keep in mind that a bonded pair is less inclined to trust people as they have each other and don't necessarily crave interaction from people. It would help to know their history. Are they related? Were they handfed as babies? How long have they been paired? Would love to see pictures, too!

If you recently got them, then it's no surprise. They need time to learn to trust humans!

If you feed Tiel, does Cocka ignore you two or does she go out of her way to bite?

Thanks for replying! I'll be sure to check those links out.
Also is their behavior weird just because of the new environment? I just thought Teal might be sick and got worried so maybe it's a good idea to see the vet.

Without a vet check, there's no way to be sure if they are healthy or not, and at minimum, you want to get a gram stain done. Tiel doesn't look all that great in the photos, but I can't tell if it's because he's trying to nap or if he genuinely doesn't feel well.

He was trying to nap in the picture but he looks like this often. Just moments ago he was whistling amazingly and playing with the swing but now he's in the corner not doing anything.

Ten years ago I adopted a pair of Tiels from my boss who told me that they were both four years of age.

Eight months later my male tiel passed away seizure. He spent his last four days of this life in a vet's care. I was told after his death that he was likely in his twenties.

Get your Tiels checked out.

What a sweet pic!

2 weeks is still so soon and early as far as trusting and adjusting! But not soon for a vet check up though, when in doubt. It's best to rule out anything, especially since they're a pair. Could just be their routine. A good sign that they're eating, drinking water and playing. Not acting like other tiels, just means they're both their own individual tiel! Much different than acquiring a single bird alone...these two are together and have their own traits and quirks.

I am really sorry for your loss ā˜¹
It really hurts me when someone's pet passes away.
About my tiels:
I got them from a pet store and they said they both were one year old. I should just ask them for their information folder, it exists in every pet store in my area.
The day I got them I was too excited to remember and ask for it :D:p

Thank you!!
Just today I came from school and noticed that they were playing and they seemed very happy! Also, Cocka was rubbing/hitting her beak on the cage bars and whistling so I went close to check and she came close and starred at me. It was so cute, it's like she was trying to get my attention.
I believe it's because I'm dedicating more time to talk to them now.
Tiel likes compliments and whistles whenever I say "Pretty Boy!" Or "Who's a pretty bird?".
:grey::yellow1:

By the end of this week (it's Wednesday here in Algeria) it will be the 3rd week since I got them šŸ˜€

Thank you, that is nice of you to say.

If they came from a store than chances are, that the age you were told, was correct.

My boss was just trying to unload his birds.

YAY! That's an excellent step forward. Treats are a great tool for gaining trust and forming a bond.

Your birds are so cute. :) Congratulations!

I now sit with them everyday and talk cage, hem or draw and watch TV with their cage next to me.
I just wanna know when are they going to get out of the cage, because I leave the cage open and they don't even step next to the door.
The first time I tried getting them out of the cage was the third day I got them. I opened the cage and sat away from it. Tiel was the first to come near the door, he was tilting his head and looking from side to side until Cocka jumped behind him which made him fly out followed by her.
She sat on my pillow while he perched on the curtains holder thingy (idk how you call it but it's basically a giant perch).
The one thing that scared me was them flying around crazily and almost hitting walls, other than that, they whistled wonderfully especially Tiel.
And then there was this! They didn't want to go back to their cage and they spent 3 hours flying around and pooping everywhere. That didn't bother me but it was night and I had to get some stuff done and of course eat šŸ˜‚
So I lead Cocka to a small chair and when she stepped on it I brought her back to the cage, same with Tiel.
It was a stressful first time for them, I guess, so maybe that's why they fear coming out.

right now the cage is safe for them, give them a bit of time to come out, you can slowly start bringing your hand up to the cage to edge yourself closer and closer to them until they're happy with you. When you try and get them out I'd advise closing your curtains to avoid any window based accidents
