I have a Congo African Grey and no longer want him or have the time for him. My problem is I'm scared to just let him go with anyone. I want him to go to a home that has the time to love him and will make him a part of their family. His name is Buddy and he talks endlessly. His D.O.B. is Sep. 12, 1995. I'm his second owner. Please if anyone really wants a bird as a new member to their family please let me know. :(

I am just wondering, Why you no longer want Him as you put it?

I hope you manage to find him a great home where he will be well cared for and loved.

I believe it's in the best interest of the bird. He deserves a better family and like I mentioned we just don't have the time. I have been in this position for a very long time with him and thought I could try this web site in hopes that someone... somewhere... might be interested. I'm not a bird person and he landed with me. I take care of him but I would like to find a better home for him.

Do you have any local parrot rescues? If you don't know where to look, you could ask your local animal shelter if they have any parrot rescues that they use.

I have searched the internet for parrot rescues but really nothing comes up and I will search harder for one if I can't find a good home for him myself. Thank you, I will just keep trying. I know someone out there will want him (fingers crossed). :)

There is an adoption/rehoming section on this site, you might try posting there as well. Good luck finding him a good home :)

Please be careful of bird flippers. They may approach you and offer a low price and then turn around and sell the bird for more with no interest in the birds welfare. When you start selling or re homing a parrot like this the world is not a nice place. There are usually many people who would want a grey.

See that is what I'm scared of. Thank you for reminding me of that because I may be to trusting in people. This is not going to be easy but I will make sure somehow this does not happen! Thank you.

I would love to give this guy a home as i have always loved the African greys sadly I live to far away and it would be impossible for me to get him but I wish you the best of luck finding him a new home

Where are you located so we may help you? Never mind. Illinois. Go to petfinder.com and put your area in. There are several bird rescues in your area.

Good luck and thanks for caring.

I second greyclouds advice, look at the rescues in petfinder, talk to them. They will most likely be able to help in some way even if it is not taking him into their homes.
