Pico - yellow sided GCC
so for the longest time I thought Pico hated the spray bottle I bought for him (he seriously charges at it full speed whenever he sees it) it's a clear bottle with a bright yellow cap. and this past week I discovered he doesn't hate the spray bottle.. he hates the color yellow! I tested it out with some yellow shoes, a huge yellow smiley face sticker, and a yellow CD case. he charges at them and tries to bite very hard. it's hilarious to me because I guess he doesn't realize how yellow his underside is! lol
but my problem is this: I originally wanted a sun conure as my first bird but got Pico (yellow sided GCC) instead because I live in an apartment and I know GCC's are quieter. so, I resolved to just owning Pico until I have the means and the environment to add another parrot to our family. and of course, I wanted the second parrot to be a sun conure.
so now I'm worried because if Pico hates the color yellow, should I just give up on my sun conure dream? should I maybe search for a local pet store to see if any have a sun conure that I can bring Pico to "meet" and see if he reacts negatively? I feel like he might be ok with the color yellow if he recognizes it is a bird like him. I mean, he's content with seeing his yellow bellied reflection in the mirror.
my main priority is for Pico to be happy and for them to be potential best friends.
any input or advice would be appreciated :21:

Try playing some YouTube videos of different birds and watch for a reaction. My JoJo starts climbing all over my iPad when I do that, sings and everything!

I tried that with a video of sun conures and he attacked my phone :( very disappointing

That's funny... yellow lol. If you are set on eventually getting a Sun, don't let Pico's preferences stop you. I've had Robin for decades, and always with other birds, and I've always had to keep them separate. No guarantee Pico will get along with any colored bird anyway.
