Hello,
My wife and I need a good book on training our two Conures.
There are a lot out there...

We saw a book on "clicker training". And another digital book "Conure Secrets" by Nathalie Roberts.

Our two Conures are almost one year old, one is pretty shy and the other bites frequently.

Any suggestions for a good training book?

Thank you,
Gary

Now that's funny! LoL!

As per a blog, Nathalie Roberts is not a woman, does not own birds, and is very much not a white person. I have heard they are a scam, and it's a website started by an 18 year old in 2004. I have not heard anyone recommend them.

I often recommend Barbara Heidenreich, Susan Friedman, Melinda Johnson and Karen Pryor. There are other trainers out there, but these are well known and work based on positive reinforcement and Applied Behavior Analysis. That is, learning to understand our parrots and communicating with them in a positive manner rather than forcing them to do something that they do not understand or know how to do. It teaches them what *to* do instead of what not to do... and the more that good behavior is rewarded, the less likely that bad behavior will be done.

Awesome!!! Thank you so much! This is the information I needed...
I was worried that Nathalie Roberts thing was a scam. It all had too much of a sales pitch to it.

I will look into your recomendations. Thank you again.

I naively bought Nathalie Roberts ebooks.

They are useless and a waste of money.

I do NOT recommend them, scam or not.
