...to Oatmeal! This morning I was getting the birds breakfast ready. The bird room door was still closed. Levi was yelling for food, as he usually does, and the Budgies and Charlie usually join in for the fun of it! Then I hear Fred yell, "Oatmeal!" Levi is silent, and then starts again. Fred yells, louder this time... "Oatmeal!" Levi is silent again. It's so funny when Fred chastises Levi. Too bad he thinks his name is Oatmeal, but that's because Fred used to live with a very noisy Quaker. He often gets Levi going, and then yells, "Oatmeal, Shut Up"! Here I am, a middle aged woman, with no children at home...Life should be serene!!!

ROTFL!!!(rolling on the floor laughing)

That is hillarious and also very cute! You only THOUGHT your peaceful days of no children at home was going to exist. Now you've got yourself a house FULL of toddlers again, LOL. And JUST like that, you're back to raising babies. LOL

Send "oatmeal" here Mishka loves it
That must sound so cool, hearing them all chatting away
Please get them on video Sharon

Thanks guys! My house can be a madhouse, sometimes...but I love it!!!

Every day it seems Fred does something else that shows just what a character he is. And that's just the stuff we hear about...it must be absolutely insane being around him.

A Quaker called "Oatmeal"....now that's funny....a little corny....but funny.

To think that Fred will now call other loudmouth birds "Oatmeal" speaks volumes about how loud and obnoxious that Quaker must have been. Ironic to think that you rescued the quiet bird, Sharon. :p

Fred is indeed a character!:DI used to think some of the stuff he comes up with was just coincidence...I now think he's much smarter, and more aware than I could ever have imagined. There is a lot of stuff that I don't even post about...like when he met a dinner guest last weekend, and said, "What are you doing here?" She replied, "I'm going to have dinnner, Fred." Fred seemed to think for a minute, and then said very flirtingly..."Hi Babe!!!" She was shocked! He does seem to know what he's saying and when to say it. I no longer think that parrots just mimic....
