I have been up all night. Here in Hawaii we are 5 hours earlier than the Central Time Zone, and the last couple of days have been stressful. I am currently waiting to find out if my husband passed his Ranger Physical Fitness Test, a test that shouldnt give him a problem except he has been sick as a dog. For various reasons, if he doesnt pass this test it will most likely derail his entire career plan. So I am concerned. Best case scenario, I do not see or hear from my husband for the next 17 days. My life is weird. Also I love parrots, as if my life were not drama filled enough. Anyway, I sat up all night because I couldnt sleep, and mostly perused this forum. I love it here, it is my favorite internet place. Why? Because you people get it. Not every part of my life, but this part, my passion for my birds, my love for them, my never ending need to learn more about them. You are there when I have questions, when I am excited, etc. So here's to you, Parrot Forum Members; I love you all!

Sending positive vibes your way that your hubby does not return home for 17 days;)

I grew up a military brat.Army. My dad retired full bird. We too did a tour in Hi. I know the stresses of being in the military. Best of luck. BTW we love having you here.

I am also sending positive vibes your way as well, and hopefully you will know soon whether he passed or not.
I feel the same way about the forum, I absolutely love it here. It is so wonderful to have a place where we can talk about our feathered obsessions as much as we want, and learn so much from others.

I also love reading your posts:)

We love you too! The best decision I made when I got Ducati was joining this forum. I love it here. I love how "to the point" you are. No sugar coating or beating around the bush. Just telling it like it is. Sending positive vibes your way for the husband! Hopefully you find out soon.

Well I went to sleep after waiting a while, long enough that I figured the "danger" was over and my husband was on his way to the field, only to get a phone call about half an hour after laying down saying he had failed. My husband does not fail things, it simply isn't done. This is a second huge disappointment for us after his being dropped from Ranger School this year, a course with a 60% failure rate. He came home with frostbite on fingers and toes, along with other issues.

This was his second chance. He needed this. However, I am incredibly proud of him right now. He was more than prepared for this - he is in incredible shape physically and mentally, but a random bug knocked him on his behind this week. My husband, the man who never gets sick. But he is taking it like a man - the man he is I guess. Who knows what the future holds for his career - it is very hard to progress as an infantry officer with no Ranger Tab - but we believe there must be a reason for this timing, because we believe in the Man behind all reasons.

Thanks everyone for your support, this morning, and always.

I'm so sorry to hear, but I believe the same as you do. There IS a reason for this and the timing of him getting sick at this critical time. You don't know the reason right now, but a better plan is out there I'm sure, though you can't imagine what that is, as all you see is the disappointment right now. Hang in there. It will get better. Hugs :)

I'm sorry your husband didn't get the results you both wanted and needed. Stay strong, with that kind of dedication it will work out. Best of luck to both of you.

Thank you so much for your, "I Love You," post. That was so sweet and we love having you here. I was sure that you were about to tell us one of your rescue parakeets had just said, "I Love You", see where my thoughts are. Amazingly, my U2, at the age of seven is picking up a lot of new words. His latest is, I love you. He said it to our plumber for the first time, then to my mom, and finally to me. It comes out I lahhhvve you, very sweet to hear, from a human or a parrot. :)
