Good afternoon from Ouagadougou,Burkina Faso W.Africa,(say that 3 times fast)
My husband and I are the new proud parents of "Terrific Teeko" the Temneh. He was captured in Ivory Coast and brought to Burkina for a sale. We purchased him on the side of the road for only $100. We have been missionaries here since 2010. Formerly we were mom and dad to a CAG, but re-homed her when we had to head to the states for a few years. When we arrived home, I didn't have the heart to take Wozzy back away the children that had grown so fond of her. Our CAG was already tamed and had lots of tricks and was very sweet to me.
This little boy is way different, and I'm feeling I might of taken on a bit more than I can handle. I'm hoping this forum will give me guidance and confidence to have a well behaved and lovable bird. I love the challenge that is before me, and I am one to have lots of patience. So right now all she does is growl. I've not gotten her out of her cage yet. She is eating well, and showing interest with her toys. I'm going to be reading post and threads to get all the suggestions I can on how to tame her the correct way. Thank you in advance, I know I'm going to be helped a lot by many of you.
