Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Since I'm in the mood to craft...

I just scored a half dozen fairly large (2 ft. tall) grapewood vines. (That stuff is expensive!)

Not sure if I'm gonna do another table top playstand (for tusk and Lila) or turn them into grapevine flyers, or some combination of both, yet...

I believe that's the stuff in my backward here in New York.

If so, you're lucky. Clean it off, and take advantage!

Sally's Manzanita table was made from fire hazard clearing materials many years back... it grew wild in California. I used to get large amounts of it free...

I have neighbors in the woods behind me that make grapevine sculptures that are just amazing! They mostly make eagles...if I can find a pic I will post it. I am going to go back and ask them if they have any scraps or maybe even how much they would charge to make a stand for us. One question though...how do you get in that mood to craft exactly...because I just can't get there lately..lol.

Well, in my case, it was playstand coming apart and falling down... finally sick of it. Time to make a new one...

Okay, need to fix the toys too, and make some new ones while I'm at it...

Hey! That's a really good deal on a load of grapewood...

MAN OVERBOARD!!!

Last night I went through my boxes in the garage, and found I still had quite a bit of stuff for toys... and I made half a dozen new ones out of the old parts, and broken old toys... (With more to come.)

I've decided to make another table with the grapewood...

This thing is going to be completely over the top...

And best of all, I've already got most of what I need to build it. I found a couple of never been used cargo nets in a box, left over from when I was building big plastands for people, so I'm going to incorporate those into the table as well...

Thanks...that works for me too, but it just seems like I never have time anymore and when I have time I don't feel crafty. I will when things settle down a bit I'm sure;) (plus I haven't been feeling well so that doesn't help).

So, I looked up the website of my neighbors...they make the eagles from the land..mostly. Here's the website...check it out...

My big playstand is almost done.

The toys for it are also almost done.

I ordered 5 dozen hard wood coins, 4 dozen or so wood blocks, and 4 dozen wooden balls from MSBS yesterday.

So when those get here I can finish the rest of the toys.

When I finish that, I'll start on the other one, while I'm still MANIC and slightly out of control...

I'll photograph this as well and post another how I did it tutorial...

The plan is to make an actual wood table.

Add tile to the top.

Then attach the PVC pipes to the top of the table, to make a frame to hold my cargo nets, and an overhead spot to hang toys from. (That's actually going to be my table edging. Instead of dovetailing wood, I'll just screw in PVC... and then I can build up. SIMPLE!)

With four or five grapewood trees screwed into the top of the table.

My manzanita table turned out very nice, and it's about ten years old now, and still going strong. Sally pretty much just moved to her tree in the window. She only goes back to her cage to chase Lila off of it...

Because even though she never uses it, IT'S HERS and another female amazon IS NOT moving in...

Because we don't have enough of this stuff around here as it is!

And if I do four grapewood trees for the stand, I'll have two left for a flyer...

WOOP WOOP!!! Our neighbor called hubby tonight to ask if we would sell him our old truck as he has one just like it and it broke down. Hubby asked me what I thought, and I said it was up to him, but if he decides to sell it to him, include a grapevine parrot tree in the price...LOL! I don't know if he will buy the truck, but at the very least I will be getting either a tree or some "scraps" to make one myself:32:
