My heart overflowed with pride this week when I found a 'beautiful' surprise in the bathtub. Siza, the girl that works for me was off on Wednesday and she looks after all my reptiles while I am at work, opening for them etc. Wednesday it looked as if it was going to rain so I did not open Forest's tunnel for him to go outside. (My iguana.)

He refuses to poop in his room no matter what type of toilet I supply so he always does his business outside. I've been teaching him to poop in the bathtub on rainy or cold days but because we so seldom have days like that its been very hard because there are no routine.

So Wednesday night when I got home I found poop in the bathtub!!!! Can you imagine that a lizard can be that intelligent!!!! I treated him with a clime in a tree and a piece of his favorite garlic bread.

Hie-hie it looks as if he is wearing a t-shirt.:D

I love it! Who knew poop in the bathtub could bring so much joy!

Forrest sure is a clever Iguana, I can't believe it
That must be a first in the world Linky, and you have every reason to be so proud
Give him a big hug from Ant and Mishka okay
I wish the camera had caught it but I know it does not view the bathrooms, what a pity.
Linky did you know if he wiped himself afterwards
Thanks for sharing

That must be a first in the world Linky,

Oh it is not the first, other iguanas poop in a cat litter tub in their cages and I've seen an iguana that was trained to use the human toilet. I actually saw it on youtube, I'll go look for it quickly.:D

I found it fast, however it does not show that he went there by himself. He also falls off that is why I rather choose the bath - easy to clean as well.:D

That is incredible, we must NEVER underestimate our pets.
Ask Craig to make a "toilet seat" like the one in the video, and start training him this weekend.
We going to have to call you the Poopie Trainer
Good luck

WOW!

How clever is Forrest????!!!!!

He is so majestic too! Thanks for sharing Linky, I love reptiles and will spend hours in spe******t shops just gawking! xxxx

i think its amazing that you let him outside and he comes back in!

Never unsupervised, we have some big trees in the garden and I will never get him out of there if he decides to clime to the top. :D

He has a tunnel from his room to his outdoor aviary and he cant get out of it. ;) This explains it better: http://www.parrotforums.com/nonfeathered-pets/5277-my-iguana-forest.html

I allow him to free roam the garden when I get home and on weekends and then he always comes home. His favorite spot is on my bed watching tv and I dont think he will trade that with the scary outdoors - ever.:D

Geee and I thought my little bearded dragon had big poop
lol
such a clever boy forest and a clever mummy

You know it's love when they poop where you ask lol

I have some photos of all of them in my Albums and will add Sterretjie's stuff. I keep on changing it and I am still searching for perfection - if there is even something like that.
