Some of you may know that I wanted to adopt a b&g macaw that was up for adoption in May, here in PF. But it was just too soon after I adopted Savannah. My husband was definitely not ready, so I was really bummed to say the least. I was planning on adopting a baby in about 2 years or a rehome if we could find the right match.

The b&g I am referring to is Coqui. Plans had changed and Lindylou really wanted me to adopt Coqui (and I really really wanted to adopt her) So I talked to my husband again and this time he said "yes"!! Yaaaaahooo! Thank god he had a change of heart. And I have to say, he is quite excited, too!

We are going to bring Coqui home with us this fall! We are so excited! Here is a picture of our beautiful girl.

We are planning our first visit with Coqui in August. She is 3.5 hours away, so the visits have to be planned well in advance. LOL!

I am excited to meet our newest family member! I just wanted to thank Linda for picking us to give Coqui a forever home. Our entire family can not wait to have her join us! :D

Blanca,
i was so concerned when i realized that i was an animal lover but not meant to be a Forever home to a georgeous B&G inherited from my mother in law. We thought we had found someone to be Coqui's forever parront. Unfortunately a medical issue disrupted that transition.
My heart is at peace knowing you and your lovely family will be Coqui's forever Mommy and Family. You have no idea. Bless you and Thank you.
Tissue time. I'm very happy.
Linda

Wow Linda, you are going to make me cry. This is definitely a tissue moment. I am so honored to be her new Mama! I so enjoy being a parront! You and your husband have done a great job with her. I know this transition will not be easy for you guys and I'm sure you have grown attached to her, but I am happy knowing you feel good about where she is going. I promise we will take great care of her. :D

Congrats to you both

She is beautiful, congratulations!! I'm so happy to hear that it worked out, it was meant to be! I love her expression in the picture too...so curious and sweet. :D

And I think its really wonderful that she got to find her forever home via the forum, and that Lindylou will get to keep up on her progress. Its very heartwarming. :) I'm so excited for you!

I didn't want to start my day with tissues....but here I am all teary eyed.

This is SO awesome!! I am SO happy for you Blanca & Linda! :D

Coqui will fit in with you so well, Blanca, and I know just how excited you and your family must be. With each passing day you are one step closer now. :)

And Linda, I know how much you love Coqui, and how special she is to you. You've come SUCH a long way with her!

HUGS to both of you!

Thank you! I too think it was meant to be! I would have never imagined when joining this forum back in April, that I would find such a great bird to rehome! We are very excited! :D

Congratz!!

Thanks Moo! :D

Thanks Wendy! I think Coqui is a perfect fit for our family. I know she is going to love her new home! We all talk about her each and every day! We are looking forward to bringing her home this fall! :D

Now it is time to start working on my new bird room. Hopefully we can start real soon!

Good news all around, both for you AND Coqui! And isn't that a sweet name? I have a cat named Coqui because he was born with a neurological defect impairing his motor skills and couldn't use his back legs, dragging them behind him and looking for all the world like the little frog he was named after (he is now my 'wet noodle legs' cat as he has gotten a bit better).

Wings - Yes, 4 it will be! LOL! Still haven't heard from the breeder on the Linnie's but am hopeful we will get a baby sometime in the fall! My daughter is doing so well with helping me with the birds, reading and doing her chores. We are very proud of her. She is really earning her Linnie bird! And of course, both our kids are soooo excited for Coqui to come live with us! :D

Mikey - Thank you! Better late then never! ;)

At least I did make it before it was several months late...lol...I think I was too tired and stressed out at that time it was posted and I think it was posted around the time I lost my little guy so I wasn't paying too much attention....

Coqui is gorgeous!! So happy that it is all working out for everyone!

Does your daughter have any planned names for the linnie? :)
We've talked a little bit about names, but I think she wants to wait until she knows the color and meets the bird. :)
